Biodiversity—the rich variety of life on Earth—is essential for a healthy planet. Yet it rarely enters our daily conversations. These pieces ask: What is biodiversity? Why does it matter? And what’s threatening it today?

I hope these pieces help educate and highlight the importance of protecting biodiversity, starting at a local level. 

This project draws inspiration from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List. More than just a catalog of species at risk, the Red List tracks the health of ecosystems globally, providing critical data on habitats, population trends, threats, and conservation strategies needed to guide policy and action.

This showcase invites you to see biodiversity not just as a concept, but as a living, local, and global story we all have a role in protecting.
